Do the waste scan
Overview

Paper Industry Market Developments – October

Last month we expressed the hope that the price decrease that had started at that time would remain limited.

In the meantime, we have unfortunately had to experience that, especially in Asia, the demand for waste paper and cardboard has turned out to be worse than initially expected. The negative sentiment from China is mainly responsible for this. Of course, this has an impact on the prices that factories in the region (still) want to pay for, however, very limited volumes.

The result is that in Europe a relatively large amount of material is offered ‘on the market’ and is desperately looking for a sale. That also does not do the prices any good.

Against the background that many factories see the end of the year approaching quickly and that their accountants want to keep stocks low, it does not look like demand in our region will increase quickly.

In short, the prospects for the short term are not very positive in this respect. However, we remain positive for the medium and long term because the world is becoming increasingly sustainable and we at Kempenaars Recycling are happy to contribute to that.
